From the 2027/2028 season, the Champions League will no longer be shown on DAZN, but the US provider Paramount+ will be joining the program. If you want to have a free choice of live broadcasts for the Champions League and the Bundesliga from 2027, you will need four subscriptions in the future: Amazon Prime Video and Paramount + for the premier class, Sky and DAZN for the domestic league. According to media reports, the Champions League final will also be shown on Netflix – that would actually be subscription number five. Only if a German team reaches the final would it have to be shown on free-to-air television in this country.
How much do football TV subscriptions cost in detail?
The cheapest subscription to Champions League newcomer Paramount+ is currently available for 5.99 euros per month, the most expensive costs 12.99 euros. How the prices will develop – with top football on offer – cannot be reliably predicted.
Prime Video is included in the Amazon Prime membership; the current cost is 8.99 euros per month or 89.90 euros annually. There are also discounted offers, for example for students and trainees.
At Sky, the one-year subscription for the Bundesliga currently costs 29.99 euros per month and also includes the 2nd league. The DFB Cup is not included. For this, the customer also needs the sports subscription for a total of 34.99 euros per month.
At DAZN, customers need the Unlimited subscription for the Bundesliga games. This costs 44.99 euros per month with the streaming provider or 34.99 euros per month with an annual contract. In addition to the domestic league, other leagues are included, but from 2027 the Champions League will no longer be included.
Sky and DAZN can also be subscribed together. With a one-year contract, the package currently costs 64.98 euros per month when booked via Sky.
That leaves Netflix, where a Champions League final could run without German participation: Here, a standard subscription with advertising currently costs 4.99 euros per month, without advertising customers have to pay 13.99 euros.
