All facts about the 2nd relegation game between Hertha and HSV

By Carsten Priefer

Today’s Monday is Hertha’s most important game in the last 10 years – the relegation second leg at HSV (first leg 0:1). If Hertha doesn’t win, the Berliners are relegated and the Hamburgers are promoted.

BZ answers the most important questions about the relegation final.

Who drops out?

Marcel Lotka (20/broken nose and concussion) was banned from playing sports by the doctor. Means: Maybe Lotka will never play in the Hertha jersey again. He has contracts in Dortmund (until 2024) and Berlin (2023), the case will probably end up before the sports court.

Like in the first leg, Lotka has Oliver Christensen (23) in the box. Also missing are Marton Dardai (20), Davie Selke (27/both thighs), Lukas Klünter (25/shoulder) and Linus Gechter (18/cold).

Who is going to Hamburg?

All players who are not in the squad, as well as all members of the support staff, travel to Monday. They sit in the stands just behind the bench for support.

Where is the relegation on TV?

You can see the game live on free TV. Sat.1 broadcasts from 7.30 p.m. (kick-off is at 8.30 p.m.). The game is also running on the pay-TV channel Sky. You can also follow the hit in the BZ live ticker.

Do away goals count double?

No, this rule no longer exists. If there is a tie after the first and second leg, it goes into extra time and possibly a penalty shootout!

Are there still tickets?

no The Volksparkstadion is sold out with 57,000 spectators. Hertha’s contingent of 6,000 tickets was also exhausted.

Attention: The probability of rain at kick-off is 90 percent. It’s going to be stormy!
