Alexander Doom from Roeselare takes gold on 4×400 meters

After a 47.54 by starter Dylan Borlée, Belgium was in fourth position. Alexander Doom from Roeselare advanced to second place and Kevin Borlée held on to it. Julien Watrin, who took individual silver on Saturday, topped it off by passing Spaniard David Garcia for the gold. The Spaniards were the first to pass the baton three times, but fell to fourth place.

For the Tornados it is already the seventeenth international medal. They also won gold at the European Indoor Championships in 2015 and 2019 and last year they won the indoor world title. In Istanbul they gave the Belgian delegation the fourth medal of honor, after gold and bronze for Nafissatou Thiam and Noor Vidts in the pentathlon and the silver for Watrin in the 400 meters.
