Alba strives for the next BBL victory

Defending champion Alba Berlin has redeemed itself for its first defeat of the season in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and reconnected with the top of the table. At Kellerkind Löwen Braunschweig, the team of coach Israel Gonzalez won 95:90 (44:43) after some difficulties and thus moved up to Telekom Baskets Bonn (14) with the same number of points.

The new leader is Bayern Munich: The team coached by Andrea Trinchieri beat EWE Baskets Oldenburg 81:77 (44:31), US guard Cassius Winston scored 23 points. In a duel between two midfield teams, the Niners Chemnitz prevailed against the MLP Academics Heidelberg 87:78 (44:49) and thus kept their opponent at a distance.

National players Johannes Thiemann and Luke Sikma were the best throwers for Alba with 15 points each, while David Krämer scored 31 points for Braunschweig. Two days earlier, the cup winners Berlin, Munich and Oldenburg had reached the final four in the second national competition, where Alba and Bayern met directly in the semi-finals.
