Another talent is leaving FC Bayern and seeking his fortune at another club.
As the German record champions announced, defender Ljubo Puljic is moving to the Italian first division club Atalanta Bergamo a year before the end of his contract.
“Ljubo has been given the opportunity to take the next step in his development towards becoming a professional footballer at a Serie A club,” said Jochen Sauer, director of youth development at FC Bayern. “We would like to thank him for his commitment to our youth teams and wish him all the best for his personal and sporting future and much success at Atalanta Bergamo.”
Puljic moved from NK Osijek to FC Bayern’s youth team in the summer of 2023. According to reports, almost three million euros flowed to Croatia at the time.
In Munich, the 1.94 meter tall left-footed player first played in the U17, then in the U19 and finally in the U23.
As Atalanta confirmed, Puljic is initially intended for the U23 team in Bergamo. “The club warmly welcomes Ljubo and wishes him every success in the Nerazzurri colors, both personally and in the team,” the Italians said in a statement.
FC Bayern extends Fernández loan
FC Bayern recently agreed on another loan deal with 1. FC Nürnberg for midfield talent Javier Fernández. The 19-year-old Spaniard will now play for the club until the summer of 2027.
“Javier has shown what great potential he has. We are very happy about the steps he has taken since joining us. It was always the plan to keep him with us beyond the second half of the season. We are therefore very pleased that this plan is now working,” said Nuremberg’s sports director Joti Chatzialexiou.
Fernández explained: “I have arrived very well at FCN, I feel very comfortable in the club and in the city. The match practice is good for me, I notice that I am improving in many areas. That will also be my goal for the new season: to keep pushing and improve even more.”
