Alba Berlin loses after drama against Ludwigsburg

Alba Berlin also lost its third game after the forced Corona break. After two bankruptcies during the week in the Euroleague, the German champions also had to admit defeat in the Bundesliga at home against the MHP giants Ludwigsburg with 75:76 (38:44).

After the fifth league defeat, Alba remains seventh in the table. The best Berlin pitcher in front of 1,600 spectators was Jaleen Smith with twelve points.

In Johannes Thiemann and Jonas Mattisseck, the last two players were back after their Corona quarantine. But Marcus Eriksson and Malte Delow got a break. The Berliners started well with a 6-0 run and the guests took their first time-out after less than two minutes. And that seemed to work.

Alba was now increasingly having problems with the high intensity of the Ludwigsburgers, who now hit almost every throw. At the beginning of the second quarter, the hosts only managed a meager five points in six minutes. The guests took advantage of this and took a double-digit lead for the first time in the middle of the section (38:28).

After the change of sides, the Berliners then acted with more intensity on the defensive. Shortly before the end of the third quarter, they even took the lead again after a long time. But Alba then conceded a 0:10 run in a now rather wild game.

But Alba fought, one minute before the end Maodo Lo brought his team back into the lead (75:74). But Ludwigsburg answered and Louis Olinde missed the possible victory with the last throw.
