The population of Afghanistan is increasingly suffering from poverty and famine, the Refugee Foundation and Save the Children say in conversation with NU.nl. Emergency aid must get underway quickly, according to the two aid organizations active in the area, because winter has arrived in the Asian country. But the Netherlands does not yet know how much extra money it can donate for humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of Afghanistan and when it will reach them.
