Aggressive driver punches activist in face at roadblock

Climate activists temporarily blocked access to freeways on Friday for the third time this week. At one point there was an incident. A video shows an aggressive driver punching an activist in the face.

An activist faces a man who raises his fist menacingly, but then turns away and then punches him. “Come on, now fuck off. We’ve got work to do,” he yells, apparently walking back to his car. In the background you can hear a woman shouting “Are you parents? My kid has to go to the doctor, damn it.”

When asked by the BZ, the police said that they were aware of the video. So far, however, nothing is known about an ad. However, it is still being checked. Apparently the video was taken at a time when the police were no longer on site.

In another video on the activists’ Twitter page, the young Faru, who was previously attacked, says she is fine. She says: “Of course it happens again and again that drivers react relatively aggressively to our blockades and disruptions. It was clear that this would happen. Doesn’t change the fact that we’ll continue here anyway.”

► As reported by the police, demonstrators from the “Save Food – Save Life” campaign were at the Seestrasse bridge at the entrance to the A100 (six people, four had stuck themselves) and at Kurt-Schumacher-Platz at the entrance to the A111 (ten demonstrators, four taped).

In Berlin-Pankow, too, activists blocked the road on the Prenzlauer Promenade at the corner of Granitzstrasse. According to the police, nine demonstrators were present here, five of them had stuck themselves.

In all cases the glue was loosened, the people carried away and dismissals issued. In some cases, there were also reports of coercion and acts of resistance as well as administrative offense reports for violations of the Freedom of Assembly Act.

The activists are calling for a law against food waste and an agricultural turnaround to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture. They call themselves the insurrection of the last generation.
