After homophobia allegations: Katja Krasavice deletes track with Haiyti from the new album

Katja Krasavice announced on Sunday that Haiyti should be represented on her new album PUSSY POWER with a joint track. This news caused displeasure among Krasavice’s fans: Haiyti was only criticized at the weekend for homophobic statements. A reaction followed promptly: The song “Tik Tak” can no longer be found on the track list for Krasavice’s new album published on Monday.

The allegations against Ronja Zschoche, Haiyti’s real name, came up late: Rap colleague Nura had shared excerpts of a conversation between her and TV chef Tim Mälzer on Instagram and TikTok. When asked about the use of the word “gay” in her lyrics, Haiyti made some questionable statements. The conversation between the two had already appeared in the “Talk-O-Mat” podcast format in September 2020, but only now has it caused a lot of criticism.

At the time, Haiyti said on the subject of homophobia in German rap: “I also say in the text: ‘I think your money is gay until it’s mine.’ I don’t mean gays either. I’m like: ‘I think it sucks'”

When Mälzer asked why she didn’t just use ‘shit’ instead of ‘gay’, the rapper made it clear: “Because it’s provocative and that’s what it’s about. I don’t know why I’m saying it either. I find it more provocative because everyone gets upset about it, ‘Shit, she says gay.’

Haiyti’s apology comes too late

Homophobia as a provocative stylistic device – many fans were obviously not enthusiastic about it. Katja Krasavice also announced that she would check the matter. Should the allegations against Haiyti be substantiated, it would of course be thrown off the album. Krasavice had already campaigned for the interests of the LGBTIQ+ movement in the past and campaigned against homophobia.

Haiyti has now commented on the allegations in a statement on Instagram. She is not homophobic or queer and has probably expressed herself unhappily in the past. She didn’t want to hurt anyone and she’s very sorry.

Katja Krasavice’s third album PUSSY POWER is scheduled for release on February 4th.
