After Djokovic, Voracova’s visa to Australia was revoked

After the Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, number 1 in the men’s world ranking, Czech Renata Voracova’s entry visa to Australia was also cancelled.

In the statement made by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was confirmed that the visa of the 38-year-old athlete, who is in the 81st place of the world classification in women’s doubles, was canceled by the Australian Border Security (ABF), while it was noted that Voracova will not object to the decision and will leave the country.

The Czech athlete was placed in the hotel where Djokovic stayed after his visa was cancelled.

Voracova, who went to Australia last month, competed in the Melbourne Summer Set 2, a preparation tournament, and was eliminated in the first round.

“DJOKOVIC CAN LEAVE THE HOTEL AT ANY TIME”

Australian Home Secretary Karen Andrews said Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic can leave the hotel at any time.

Emphasizing that the Serbian tennis player was not detained in Australia in a television program he attended, Andrews stated that Djokovic could leave the hotel and that the security units would assist him in this matter.

It was reflected in the media that Djokovic’s personal belongings were left at the airport after he was placed in the hotel where the refugees were held, and that he was not allowed to go with his team, which was kept in quarantine at a different point.

Stating that the visas of foreign tennis players were re-examined due to the information that there were other athletes in a similar situation, Andrews did not share details about how many athletes’ visas were examined.
