Waldhof Mannheim has signed the clubless Yann Mabella after a successful trial. The club did not say how long the 27-year-old center forward, who auditioned for the third division last week, signed. The seven-time Republic of Congo international has been without a new employer since his contract with RE Virton ended on June 30. Waldhof is the sixth professional station in the fourth country for the attacker, who was born in Toulouse.
“Yann showed us that he definitely wants to come to the Waldhof and drew attention to himself right from the start in training. He already played a role in our considerations last year because his goalscoring rate in Luxembourg was very noticeable. He’s a centre-forward who can bring us more depth into the game and is constantly on the move. In terms of character, Yann has also shown that he fits in very well with our team. He was involved in numerous dangerous goalscoring actions in the two friendlies and in the training sessions,” said sporting director Tim Schork.
