Willingen (dpa) – Selina Freitag does not attend the Olympic dress rehearsal for ski jumpers in Willingen after her violent fall.
The 20-year-old skips the World Cup this Sunday, as national coach Maximilian Mechler confirmed in the morning. “The night was a bit restless, and this morning she clearly noticed it,” said Mechler. “Then we decided: She won’t jump today. But so far she’s fine and we’re quite confident that she’ll be fit again by next week.”
Alongside Katharina Althaus, Pauline Hessler and Juliane Seyfarth, Freitag is part of the team for the Winter Games in China. She fell after landing during the competition on Saturday and hit her head and upper body hard on the slope of the Großer Mühlenkopfschanze.
