Having become public from the Big Brother program Nino Hermas43, died in Aurora’s psychiatric ward in October 2022. The cause of death was revealed to be coronary artery disease.

According to the Patient Insurance Center, Hermas’ death could probably have been avoided, reports Evening News. The Patient Insurance Center has issued a compensation decision in the case.

– According to PVK’s assessment, on October 10, 2022, it would have been appropriate to react to Nino’s new type of breathing difficulties, rapid pulse and clearly higher blood pressure level than before at Aurora Hospital and send him to the somatic department for examinations. By doing so, the hemodynamics could have been brought under control, any significant arrhythmias could have been identified and treated, and the blood pressure medication could have been enhanced, Ilta-Sanomat quotes PVK’s decision.

Hermas’ relatives have told Ilta-Sanom that the man repeatedly complained about his heart symptoms. However, the nursing staff did not pay attention to the man’s symptoms. Hermas had been admitted to the psychiatric ward due to psychological symptoms.

According to Ilta-Sanomi, the relatives have also complained about the operation of the Lohja hospital, where Hermas applied to the emergency room in September 2022.

– An appropriate clinical examination was performed at the reception, on the basis of which it was found that the blood pressure value was good and the heart rate was steady. Blood oxygenation value was good. There were no heart murmurs and breathing sounds were clean throughout, the decision says, according to the documents seen by Ilta-Sanomie.

In the opinion of the Patient Insurance Center, however, Lohja Hospital did not act improperly.

For the relatives, Hermas’ death has been a difficult place. In addition to her mother and sister, Hermas was missed by her 6-year-old son. The relatives do not yet know the amount of the compensation, but they are trying to get the son a survivor’s pension.
