A huge turn in his career – the UFC star worked as a food courier two years ago

Alexandre Pantoja’s persistent work brought an award.

The jump from hand-to-mouth living to sports stardom sometimes happens quickly.

The Brazilian who won the UFC flyweight title last weekend Alexandre Pantoja tells on The MMAHourthat until two years ago he supported himself as an Uber driver delivering food orders.

The Brazilian, who experienced two losses within a year, found himself in financial trouble in the early days of the corona pandemic. At that time, he also spent eight months alone in the United States, while his wife and children returned to Brazil.

– It was a really hard time for me. I didn’t know how to be a father. You can call it a sacrifice, Pantoja describes.

Back to winning ways Manel Narrow in return, however, offered the opportunity to rebuild the whole thing. Pantoja invested his winnings in the house and bringing his family back. His wife became a cleaner in order to have enough income for the family.

Brassi emphasizes that by investing in freestyle, he aims to open up better opportunities for his offspring in the future.

– This is not about me, this is about my family. About my children, my two sons. Their English is better, much better than I will ever have, Pantoja rejoices.

Before Brandon Moreno defeating at UFC290, Pantoja signaled his way towards the peak moment of his career by knocking out Kape by Alex Perez and by Brandon Royval.

Pantoja, 33, has fought in the UFC 11 times and won eight of his matches.
