The investigating authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region are investigating the circumstances of a gas explosion in a residential building as part of a criminal case initiated under the article “Provision of services that do not meet consumer safety requirements.”

Recall explosion gas occurred on the evening of February 3 in an apartment on the top floor of a five-story panel building located on Lenin Avenue. A 46-year-old man was hospitalized from the scene, 80% of his body was burned.

Previously reported. that 13 people were evacuated from the house where the incident occurred. According to updated data from the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, 49 people left the house, including two children.

A temporary accommodation facility has been opened for evacuees at a nearby school. At least 12 residents applied there. Whether people will be able to return to their apartments for the night is not reported. Judging by the photo from the scene, impressive cracks appeared on some walls of the building after the explosion.
