Today it is fully enjoying the sun. According to Weerman Jan Visser, we break one sun record after the other. Up to and including 10 March, 93 hours of sunshine were already measured – the highest number ever in that period. The second half of the month is also exceptionally sunny: between 10 and 20 March the sun was already shining for 85 hours.
This makes this March firmly on track to become the sunniest ever. With at least 178 hours of sunshine, the month is already in the top ten of the sunny months. The expectation is that we will pass the border of 200 hours of sunshine.
Temperature drops after the weekend
Today’s weather fits perfectly with that image: plenty of sun and temperatures that rise to almost 20 degrees. Only on Texel and along the IJsselmeer it stays a bit cooler. There is also a strong wind, wind force 5 on the water.
Tomorrow the weather will change. In the morning there is a chance of light rain and a few showers can also fall in the afternoon, although that means little. The chance of showers increases in the evening. The temperature lags behind today and is around 16 degrees.
On Sunday it will be cloudy, with occasional rain and temperatures around 15 degrees. A clear cooling will follow after the weekend, from Monday the mercury drops to around 11 degrees.
