Jacques (49) and Jessica (40) Moretti, the owners of the bar ‘Le Constellation’ in the Swiss ski resort of Crans-Montana, are being interrogated again today. The Public Prosecution Service will ask them more questions about the tragic fire that broke out in their bar on New Year’s Eve. 41 people were killed, including many young people. 115 others were injured.

The inferno in Crans-Montana on New Year’s Eve was caused by champagne bottles with fireworks, as shown in the images below

The Morettis will undergo a so-called ‘confrontation interrogation’ today. Suspects are confronted with witnesses or other suspects, often when there is disagreement about the facts. It is the first time that the couple has been questioned together.

The couple arrived around 8am. The Morettis have each been questioned twice for this, the first time on January 9. The lawyers of the various parties will attend the hearing today and may also ask questions.

The owners of ‘Le Constellation’, like the other twelve suspects in the case, must answer for death by negligence, bodily injury by negligence and arson by negligence.

The parties involved are disappointed that the confrontation interrogation is only taking place today, more than five months after the facts. They fear that the risk of collusion between Jacques and Jessica Moretti is high.
