There will be no complete restart for the Groenoord declared bankrupt in February, with branches in Smilde and Dalen. That means that all employees of the company will be on the street.
Chance of success
Groenoord was the largest John Deere dealer in the Northern Netherlands. A restart of Groenoord would only have a chance of success if a candidate would get a new dealership from John Deere to be able to sell tractors, agricultural machinery and garden and park machines.
John Deere recently concluded an agreement with competitor Kraakman. The producer has made an appointment with Kraakman to start a network of dealers in the Northern Netherlands. In the meantime, Kraakman Groenoord employees have called to report to talk about an employment contract. With eighteen branches, Kraakman is already a dealer in the west and south of the Netherlands.
Restart per location?
The trustees are now investigating the possibilities of a restart per location for Groenoord. This without an overarching dealership with manufacturer John Deere. The trustees indicate that they are hopeful about this. Conversations about this are now running.
In 2024, Groenoord suffered a loss due to high IT costs, interest charges and rapidly increasing personnel costs.
