After the gala performance in the Champions League against Leverkusen, Bayern Munich was very difficult in the league at FC Union Berlin. The league leader had against the extremely defensive table-14. More than 70 % possession. But it was only in the 50th minute of the game that over-Bayern managed the first shot. The game ended according to goals by Leroy Sané (75th) and Benedict Hollerbach (83.) 1: 1 (0: 0). After the victory, Berlin celebrated the next point win in Frankfurt.
Up until the 50th minute, the Union-Elf-Steffen Baumgart, who was supervised by assistant coach René Wagner, had to serve his yellow lock-almost robbed the Munich nerve to the Munich. Again and again the guests from the south besieged the penalty area of the home side. But the two dense defense chains of the “iron” did not allow any gaps.
In addition, the precision lacked the numerous flank attempts by the Munich. In between, the company players seemed almost annoyed – also because of the sometimes lack of willingness to run by colleagues.
Union, as usual in such games, relied on switching moments. Such was first offered in the 12th minute when Alphonso Davies lost the ball to Josip Juranovic deep in the half of Berlin. The Croatian set off on the socks, the whole half of the Bavarian half was empty. But “Ice” Davies rushed the Berliner after his inimitable speed and easily ran off the opponent’s ball. Until then, Michael Olise and Serge Gnabry had targeted the gate by a long -range shot, but was significantly missed.
Union fans celebrate – and players keep the shop tight
The game of the game was very similar to the first round: Bavaria pressed, lacked precision, Berlin kept the shop tight. The fans celebrating in the sunshine of the federal capital saw the first Bavarian shot on the goal at a Fresiteß of Harry Kane – but Frederik Rönnow in the box of the hosts had no problems with the attempt (50th).
A short time later, the Bavarian supporters caught their breath twice: At first Joshua Kimmich almost falsified the ball into his own goal after his contract extension, then Juranovic tried to successfully complete his second single-handedly-but the over-hasty conclusion was parried by Bayern replacement goalkeeper Jonas Urbig.
Sané redeems Bavaria, but Urbig Patzt
In the end, Munich benefited from his patience. Introduced by the enormously hard -working Olise, the continuous Josip Stanisic right almost fitted back to the center of the box from the baseline. There the Leroy Sané, which had recently taken into play, switched the fastest and shot freely into the goal from a central position of about 13 meters. Rönnow was powerless here.
But only a little later most fans cheered in the old forestry: After a flank ball from the right side, Urbig wiped the ball with the flat hand into the middle of the five -meter room in front of the feet of the Hollerbach, which was also substituted very late, which was able to insert without minute.
Munich pressed and pushed, after the defeat, most recently wanted to prevent Bochum from losing the point against relegation candidate Bochum – but in vain. Munich struggled to celebrate the old forestry.
