“We were actually four goals better in Amsterdam, but we did not reward ourselves,” Jansen continues. “As a result, we were short of a physically strong team in this away match. After last week’s draw, we were still confident, but it turned out that Zaibas is the better team. I speak on behalf of my colleagues when I am talking about a feeling of bale.”
Jansen was still crowned top scorer to four hits, but that could be stolen. “It also happens often enough that I make zero points. I prefer to win competitions and that others score than the way it has gone now. That I score four times and we stay empty -handed.”
Season not lost yet
In a short time the men of ZV de Zaan lost the cup final of Donk and the semi -finals of the Challenger Cup. Yet Jansen does not fear that his team will be empty -handed at the end of the season. “I don’t want to anticipate things too much. The cup final and these semi -finals are two separate stories. In my opinion, that does not detract from the fact that we still have many opportunities to win the competition,” the water polo -lust remains combative.
The hunt for the title starts next Saturday before ZV de Zaan in -house against Barendrecht.
