The black and yellow have a long time at FC St. Pauli. After the break, the game takes a turn – even an old friend meets again.

The slip prevents three important points in the struggle for the European ranks: Borussia Dortmund was able to shorten the distance to six points to three points with a 2-0 (0: 0) victory at promoted FC St. Pauli.

Serhou Guirassy (50th) and Karim Adeyemi (58th) met at the Millerntor for the team of coach Niko Kovač, who in the first round difficult with the Hamburgers, but after the break, determined the game.

Kovač managed to win his predecessors Nuri Şahin and Mike Tullberg-win two league victories in a row. Due to the next three after the 6-0 against Union Berlin, the black and yellow stay in tenth in the table and keep the European Cup places in sight. Meanwhile, St. Pauli continues its negative trend with the fourth bankruptcy in a row and ranked 15th.

“We have to step on the gas right from the start,” Kovač had asked for his team before the game. Midfield star Julian Brandt initially only on the bench after his muscle hardening and only came into the game in the 89th minute.

The pace first gave St. Pauli in front of 29,546 spectators, Elias Saad had a really good opportunity early (7th). BVB struggled with the well -organized defense of the home side for a long time and had problems on the defensive around captain Emre Can again, including the lively Noah Weißhaupt.

Without Esprit, without pace, without ideas-Dortmund was hardly recognizable for a long time compared to the Union game. But then the BVB suddenly turned up. Kovač could almost have cheered before the break whistle, when Adeyemi only pretended the ball after a single action (45.+1).

During the half -time break, the coach apparently found the right words, the guests came out of the cabin as if transformed and increased the pressure from the stand. First Guirassy pressed the ball with all his class and somehow forceed the lead into the goal, then Adeyemi compensated the fans for the poor first 45 minutes with a famous solo.

After the strong 15 minutes after half -time, in which BVB let its qualities flash, the guests switched back into administrative mode – and were able to save strength for the upcoming duel in the Champions League against Lille.
