Shock in the qualification for the ski jumping World Cup: German Luisa Görlich injured herself when she jumped. It would not be the first serious injury to them.
From a German perspective, the qualification for the first World Cup competition of the ski jumpers was not according to plan. Luisa Görlich injured the landing and caused a moment of terror. The 25-year-old bent with his leg and had to be taken care of. Although her jump on 93 meters was enough for the qualification despite the point deductions, but she was unable to leave the run on her own and was carried out. When she can jump again is unclear.
Görlich suffered a cruciate ligament tear in March 2018 and March 2024 – first in the left, then in the right knee, which was now apparently affected again. Only shortly before the World Cup she returned to the World Cup and had solved the ticket for the title fights in Trondheim with good performance.
Selina Freitag was the best German athlete in qualification and took sixth place, followed by teammate Agnes Reisch. Both showed solid performance. For Katharina Schmid, on the other hand, it did not go as desired: The three -time world champion of the past title fights only jumped to 80 meters and was 25th in the fight for the medals, she has to increase in competition.
Juliane Seyfarth also qualified for the competition of the top 40 jumpers, which takes place on Friday at 2 p.m. (ZDF and Eurosport). Slovenin Nika Prevc won the qualification in front of Norwegian Anna Odine Strøm and the Austrian Jacqueline Seifriedsberger.
