Today’s gloomy weather fits in well with what meteorologists call the ‘sheep shearer’s cold’. “Around this time, just before the longest day of the year, the sheep were sheared, because the temperatures were not yet too high,” says weatherman Jan Visser. “Typical weather for the month of June.”
This afternoon the clouds will gradually disappear and the sun will break through more and more often. The temperature rises to about 18 degrees.
Temperature in the elevator
Tomorrow will be a lot more pleasant. The day starts with some cloud fields, but the sun shows itself regularly. It will probably remain dry and with temperatures around 21 degrees it will immediately feel a lot friendlier.
Summer again from Wednesday
From Wednesday we will dive into summer. Then it will be about 23 degrees and from Thursday the mercury will rise to above 25 degrees in many places. The sun is shining brightly.
Tropical temperatures
Friday looks set to be the warmest day of the week for the time being. The temperature can then rise to above 30 degrees, which is a tropical day. However, the chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms increases later in the day.
The summer also remains warm on weekends with temperatures well above 25 degrees. There is still a small chance of a thunderstorm on Saturday, but otherwise it seems to remain mainly sunny.
