Paralympics: Forster on course for gold – leadership after the first slalom run – Paralympics

The 26-year-old monoskier goes into the second round with a lead of 1.46 seconds in the slalom in the sitting class over second-placed Chinese Liu Sitong and 2.61 seconds over Wenjing Zhang (China). So far in China, Forster has won one gold in the super combined and two silvers in the downhill and in the super-G.

Standing: Only Aarsjoe and Zhang faster than Rieder

Anna-Maria Rieder also experienced a happy ending in the standing class: After fifth place in the super-G and giant slalom and fourth place in the super combination, the 22-year-old now won bronze in the slalom.

Ebba Aarsjoe from Sweden, who fell heavily yesterday in the giant slalom, won the gold. Silver medalist Mengqiu Zhang (China) was 5.64 seconds back after two heats. Rieder was 8.74 seconds behind Aarsjoe. Anna Rothfuss was eliminated in the first round.
