For Club it was the first competition defeat since 22 September, when the national champion on its own field lost 2-4 to AA Gent. The people of Bruges therefore see leader Racing Genk run six points in the stand and defend a tight 2-1 bonus in the semi-finals of the Croky Cup on Wednesday in the Cegeka Arena. For the time being, Antwerp is currently in third place due to the victory and has to pick up a 1-0 deficit against Anderlecht on Thursday in Debeker.

Clubbleek, however, the most dominant team on the Bosuil, but was not efficient enough to finally count out Antwerp before the break. Tzolis received 17-year-old Semm Renders on his left flank and put pressure on his direct opponent several times. The Greek attacker had an excellent opportunity to open the score after five minutes, but Lammens brought a good save with a leg wipe.

The Antwerp keeper then kept Talbi off the Bruges opening goal, but was hopeless with the 0-1 Vanaken (22.). The Club captain got the ball perfectly for the feet after a deviated pass from Talbi and beat Lammens with a ball key in the left corner. Antwerp in turn was not very much offensive, more than a weak attempt by Janssen and a sheamer of church did not come along the side of the Great Old.

Club also started the second period with a shot by Tzolis and attempts by Jutgla, one of which splashed on the post. The national champion continued to spill the chances and got the lid on the nose five minutes before the end. Doumbia cut off well in midfield, laid up from thirty meters and saw his long shot disappear in the right shop hook.

The flame was again in the pan on the Bosuil and in the ninetieth minute the home team still crossed the Bruges visitors. Church dropped the ball beautifully over the Club defense to Chery, who, after one control, put the ball through the legs of Mignolet, 2-1.
