HSV warns about fake tickets for Cologne game

Fake tickets are circulating on platforms like Viagogo for HSV’s sold-out home game against 1. FC Köln. The club is offering help to affected fans and explaining how tickets can be passed on safely.
Hamburger SV has urgently warned fans not to buy tickets for the second half of the season against 1. FC Köln on Saturday (8:30 p.m.) via unauthorized platforms such as Viagogo or eBay Kleinanzeigen. According to a statement from the club, counterfeit tickets are increasingly being offered there.
As the “Hamburger Abendblatt” reports, the fakes are often so-called Photoshop plagiarisms. These tickets look deceptively real, but are invalid and do not entitle you to enter the Volksparkstadion. Particularly problematic: Some offers are aimed at away fans who may unknowingly purchase counterfeit tickets.
The high demand is driving up prices on black market platforms. Tickets were recently offered on Viagogo for up to 257 euros, although comparable tickets cost 73 euros in regular sales.
Fans who have already purchased tickets via unofficial channels can have them checked by HSV. The association offers the email address [email protected] for this purpose.
According to the “Hamburger Abendblatt” there is a special solution for Viagogo buyers: tickets can be canceled before the game and the seat can then be repurchased at the original price via HSV. The association issues a cancellation receipt that buyers can use to claim their money back.
In order to curb the black market, HSV operates an official ticket exchange. Fans can use this to safely resell their tickets. Alternatively, unneeded tickets can be returned directly to the club, which will offer them again on regular sale.
HSV urgently appeals to its fans to only purchase tickets via the official channels: the online shop or the hotline 040/4155-1887. Purchasing via unauthorized platforms violates the association’s general terms and conditions. Fake tickets would be blocked and do not allow entry.
