In the seventh episode you can discover the cameraman. That wasn’t planned – or was it?
What was going on there? In a scene from the South Korean series, “Squid Game” fans spotted a cameraman in the frame alongside the protagonists dressed in tracksuits and soldier uniforms.
Mishap or what?
Sitting with the camera on his shoulder, concentrated and dressed entirely in black, you can see him, the cameraman, who probably tricked his way into the scene in the seventh episode of the second season of “Squid Game”. A fan posted a screenshot in which the faux pas is clearly visible on X and opinions about it are piling up in the comments section.
The discovery of the mistake sparked mixed feelings online. While some took the incident with humor, others reacted with anger. Comments like “Oh no, such a shame!” or “Great, that destroyed the illusion” can be read on X. Others speculate that the cameraman may be intentionally included in the image and that this could be seen as a teaser of what could be to come.
Whatever happens, the supposedly embarrassing scene is compared to the misplaced coffee mug in “Game of Thrones,” which had to be retouched afterwards.
It is still unclear whether the faux pas of the series was intentional or unintentional – so far there has been no official statement from the makers.
The second season of “Squid Game” won awards three years after the first season was released on December 26, 2024 and shot straight to number one in 92 countries. The series made a record-breaking debut and even overtook the horror series “Wednesday” as the most-watched Netflix series, which set the record with 50.1 million viewers in 2022.
