The evening started well for Cercle. After just 17 minutes, Olaigbe kicked the 0-1 hard against the ropes. STVV claimed possession of the ball, but the Limburgers were unable to score. The Canaries remained dominant after half-time, but they were only able to capitalize on that fifteen minutes before the end. Van Helden headed a corner kick past Delanghe and gave STVV a point. Cercle remains in 13th place with 21 points.
