For the first time in what felt like an eternity, night owls were able to dive into the dark clubs humming with the bass for the first time last weekend. No wonder that in many places there were immensely long queues in front of the entrances and crowds. The rush to the Berlin Kulturbrauerei was so great that there was a panic reaction, including injuries.
Due to the high number of corona infections, a nationwide ban on dancing was imposed on December 15, 2021. Another decision was made on December 28: all clubs must close immediately. No wonder that thousands upon thousands of people could hardly wait last weekend to finally be able to hit the dance floor again. This is also the case in the Kulturbrauerei in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin.
The large crowd caused a panic reaction
Around 1,500 to 2,000 people had queued there last Friday. Due to the large rush, several of them suffered a panic attack. A man fainted and another woman was taken to the hospital. In addition, around 70 police officers came by to clear the yard.
