It was already clear at the beginning of 2024: There would be a sequel to “The Shoe of Manitu”. In addition to an official start date, there are now the first pictures from the film and an announcement about the trailer.
Cinema release in summer 2025
“The Canoe of Manitu” – the official title of the second part of the western comedy – opens in German cinemas on August 14, 2025, according to “Constantin Film”.
“We have something for you! …The first teaser trailer will be online from Monday! And if you can’t wait… the trailer can be seen in cinemas from today! Great joy!”, announced director Michael Bully Herbig on his Instagram channel on Thursday (December 19th).
The first images from the film
There the 56-year-old also showed the first snapshots from the “Winnetou” parody in a photo series. The first image presents Abahachi (played by Herbig) and Ranger (Christian Tramitz). This is followed by a recording with Rick Kavanian as Dimitri and Jasmin Schwiers in her first “Manitu” role. Finally, a group photo with the rest of the cast: Merlin Sandmeyer, Pit Bukowski, Tobias van Dieken, Daniel Zillmann, Jessica Schwarz, Akeem van Flodrop and Tutty Tran.

The Apache chief, Abahachi and Ranger are lured into a trap by a new, evil gang. Because the villains want to grab the “Manitu Canoe”. After they are rescued by their friend Dimitri and a new companion named Mary, the adventure and the search for the legendary boat really begins.
