In the 3rd league, Rot-Weiss Essen is fighting for sporting survival and is in acute danger of relegation. Now the club has drawn conclusions.
Third division soccer team Rot-Weiss Essen has separated from head coach Christoph Dabrowski. After the 3-0 defeat on Sunday against TSV 1860 Munich, the previous assistant coaches Lars Fleischer and Paul Freier will initially look after the Revier club, which is threatened with relegation.
As RWE CEO Marc-Nicolai Pfeifer explained on Monday, they were “inevitably forced” to “act.” The traditional club is third from bottom in the 3rd league with 16 points from 17 games. The ex-professional Dabrowski has been a coach at Hafenstrasse since the summer of 2022. He had previously coached the second division team Hannover 96.
