Around 3:30 p.m., the emergency services were called en masse to an incident on the seventh floor of an apartment house on Goereesepad.
After a so-called Quick Response Team from the fire brigade (see photo below) had entered the house, the Special Interventions Service (DSI) of the police also entered. Those officers stopped the injured man and handed him over to paramedics.
Flooding
The emergency services do not want to say what exactly happened in the apartment on the seventh floor, but they do say that the man injured himself. Apartment residents say they have seen flooding on lower floors, but the police will not confirm this. There would have been no fire.
