Hamburg (dpa) – The Rhein-Neckar Löwen have celebrated another success in the Handball Bundesliga after five games in a row without a win.
The Mannheimers prevailed with 33:31 (15:13) at the bottom of the table TSV GWD Minden. For coach Ljubomir Vranjes it was the first win with the lions, who temporarily improved to tenth place. The only 17-year-old left winger David More scored the decisive goal for Mannheim.
MT Melsungen won 26:22 (14:9) against HSV Hamburg. The game started 45 minutes late because the Hanseatic bus was stuck in a traffic jam due to a short-term motorway closure. MT Managing Director Axel Geerken was angry: “It’s annoying to be late for a game. Our fuse isn’t necessarily long,” he said on Sky. The first leg in Hamburg was first interrupted due to an emergency in the audience, then canceled and finally restarted.
Cup winner TBV Lemgo Lippe celebrated a 31:27 (18:15) away win at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. Iceland’s Bjarki Mar Elisson was Lipper’s top scorer with nine goals. TVB Stuttgart and HSG Wetzlar separated 26:26 (10:12).
