By winning the World Cup with the German U17 team, HSV super talent Bilal Yalcinkaya has also moved into the orbit of completely different clubs. There are already calls from Spain, and it seems uncertain whether he will stay with Hamburger SV.
HSV is fighting for young player Bilal Yalcinkaya to stay. According to “Sky”, the decision as to whether he will commit to the second division club is still open. The 17-year-old’s contract expires at the end of June 2024.
Discussions about a professional contract, which will take effect from the player’s 18th birthday at the end of March next year, are said to have already been held.
An agreement could also be made more difficult because a European heavyweight is now said to have become aware of Yalcinkaya. According to the TV station, the Spanish top club Atlético Madrid not only shows concrete interest in the winger, a contract offer is said to have already been made.
U17 world champion trains with the HSV professionals
The idea: The youngster should first get match practice in the Spaniards’ youth team, but at the same time he should also be able to learn and gain important experience in the training of the professionals. FC Barcelona agreed on a similar model with Germany’s U17 national team captain Noah Darvich last summer.
However, Yalcinkaya can already get a taste of professional life. The junior world champion is allowed to train under HSV head coach Tim Walter – another highlight of the last few weeks. According to “Sky”, he can well imagine staying in Hamburg.
The homegrown player was only called into the squad by U17 national coach Christian Wück before the World Cup finals because Man City youngster Farid Alfa-Ruprecht was injured. In Indonesia, Bilal Yalcinkaya became an indispensable part of the team, appearing in six games and scoring two goals.
