Documentary about helicopter escape from prison in Zwaag viewed 100,000 times

The documentary about the spectacular prison break in Zwaag has been viewed 100,000 times on Youtube. A criminal managed to escape from ‘de Glasbak’ by helicopter. With those involved, we look back on that controversial 2 August 1992.

It seems like a day like any other. But while the prisoners are airing, a helicopter suddenly appears. Flown by pilot Dirk Wiersma. He was booked for a photo flight, but is held at gunpoint by an accomplice of one of the prisoner.

Not much later, the helicopter lands in the courtyard, and takes off with the criminal on board. It seems to be anything like a successful escape. And now, 30 years later, we are looking for the answer to the question of whether the prisoner has ever been found again.

The documentary was made in response to the demolition of the prison
