Villeroy & Boch strike off the track. Employees agree to salary increase after ultimatum

Trade unions FNV and CNV reached a collective labor agreement with Villeroy and Boch in Roden on Tuesday. At the end of last week, the unions gave the sanitary ware manufacturer an ultimatum.

The ultimatum from CNV and FN would expire on Tuesday around noon. If there was no agreement before then, a strike would be inevitable.

Improved final bid

Villeroy and Boch submitted an improved final offer during Tuesday morning. An offer that was accepted by a majority of the employees later that day.

Initially, the unions and the company were diametrically opposed to each other. FNV and CNV wanted a wage increase this year that corresponded with the increased inflation. They also advocated automatic wage compensation and better mileage reimbursement.

Salary goes up

Villeroy and Boch made a counter-offer that CNV dismissed as the worst offer of the year.

In the new offer, Villeroy presented an offer that includes an 8 percent salary increase. The employees agreed to this.
