European table tennis champion Dang Qiu lost to the 17-year-old super talent Felix Lebrun at the WTT Champions tournament in Frankfurt. The 27-year-old from Borussia Düsseldorf lost to the French in 0-3 sets in the round of 16.

In eighth position, Lebrun is the youngest player in the top 10 of the current table tennis world rankings. At the age of 16, he won the title at the European Games in the summer. His brother and doubles partner Alexis Lebrun, who is three years older, is also one of the best 25 players in the world.

Nina Mittelham was also the last German player to be eliminated from the women’s competition. Despite a strong performance, the vice-European champion lost 2:3 against Olympic bronze medalist Mima Ito from Japan.
