With a curious long-range goal, Hamburger SV prevented a defeat in the top game of the 2nd Bundesliga at 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Thanks to Miro Muheim’s equalizer from more than 50 meters, the Hanseatic League at least saved a 3:3 (1:2) on Saturday evening, but slipped to third place. HSV has been waiting for an away win for four games now. The Palatinate team were temporarily ahead 3-1, but were unable to catch up with the guests on points.
Robert Glatzel gave Hamburg the lead in the tenth minute. The goals from Boris Tomiak (13th), Marlon Ritter (24th) and Terrence Boyd (54th) initially turned the game around. Again Glatzel (65th) ensured the connection. When Muheim (73′) hit a long ball, Lautern’s goalkeeper Julian Krahl made a massive miscalculation, allowing HSV to celebrate the lucky 3-3.
In the final phase, Hamburg pushed for victory, but was unsuccessful. At Lautern, Aaron Opoku (89th) hit the outside post.
