We can also find in Italy fields of colorful tulips, a real spectacle to admire and photograph, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
In the “You-pick” fields it is possible to choose and collect the most beautiful flowers to take home or give as gifts. At the entrance (it is advisable to book the entrance online, especially on weekends) the staff delivers a wicker basket or other container to put the flowers and explains how to cut the stem without unearthing the bulb.

In addition to being an original way to spend a few hours in the midst of beauty, these initiatives represent concrete help for nature. Wild overbuilding is causing the progressive disappearance of pollinating insects, such as bees. A field of flowers, therefore, is a real life saver for the environment.
ATTENTION: the opening dates of the fields obviously depend on the timing of the flowers. To schedule a visit, always check social networks and sites to see when the exact day will be announced.
Where to find the “You-pick” tulip fields
The field of the Flover nursery in Bussolengo (Verona).
Flover
In Bussolengo (Verona) from 19 March to 17 April 2022 a flowery field will be opened of the nursery Floverwith over 100 thousand tulips of many colors.
The land where the bulbs were planted is located in the morainic hills of the Garda hinterland: a terrace overlooking the Valdadige with a splendid view of Mount Baldo and the forts of Pastrengo.
Here it will be possible to choose and collect the tulips in person, surrounded by a colorful expanse of flowers among them 90 varieties present in the fieldearly and late.

This wide assortment will guarantee a gradual flowering: since they are mixed bulbs, they they will not all bloom together and thus, visiting the field at different times, it will be possible to witness different blooms and different shades of color.
During the flowering period, the camp will also host some initiatives such as egg hunts during the Easter period.

The field of Italian Tulips, in Arese (Milan).
Italian tulips
They had the idea of tulip fields with the You-pick formula, Edwin Koeman and Nitsuhe Wolanios. The Dutch couple (of course) opened the first You-pick tulip field in Italy for the first time in 2017.
For spring 2022 they have been planted 470,000 tulip bulbs, with 450 different varieties. The field is cultivated following and respecting the rhythms of nature, no herbicides or chemical agents are used to speed up the growth of the flowers.
The opening date depends on the flowers, with the blooming of early tulips but is expected to be around mid-March. Flowering will last a maximum of six weeks, then until the end of April.
The “Tres chic” tulip, similar to the lily, is one of the varieties planted in the field of Italian Tulips, in Arese (Milan).
The field is located in Arese, in the province of Milaninside the Groane Park, in front of The center, in the area known as La Valera. It is easily reachable by car, by public transport, with the shuttles of IL Centro and also by bicycle with the Valera cycle path.

Wander & Pick
Wander & Pick’s purpose is to create diffused gardens to re-accustom people to natureto encourage them to take an interest in greenery as a common good and to disseminate information on organic crops.
For this spring they were planted 200 thousand tulips of about 60 different varieties, spread over three fields in order to create precise choreographies.
At the end of flowering the bulbs are donated to schools, associations and anyone who requests it, precisely in order to create new gardens.

The III edition of Tulipani delle Meraviglie will start at the end of March, in Vimodrone, in the province of Milan. A land the size of two football fields was sown with 300,000 bulbs of 50 different varieties.
