Botic van de Zandschulp has been eliminated from the US Open. The tennis player from Amstelveen lost after a good start in the second round with 1-6 6-1 6-3 and 6-3 against the British Dan Evans in New York. The second round was also his final destination last year.
Van de Zandschulp started energetically and broke Evans twice in the first set. That made it 6-1. However, it only went downhill for the Amstelvener, who lost 6-1, 6-3 and 6-3. He was the last North Hollander who was active in singles at the US Open. Tallon Greek track was defeated in the first round on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old Van de Zandschulp will now prepare for the group stage of the Davis Cup Finals. The Netherlands will compete against Croatia, Finland and the United States in the Croatian city of Split in mid-September.
