PSG wants to collect at least one transfer fee, the club paid 180 million euros to AS Monaco in 2018. Club President Nasser Al-Khelaifi therefore said that Mbappé must either sign a new contract or leave the club. So far, however, there are no signs of a premature change.
Owned by Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund, Paris Saint-Germain are not cash-strapped, but UEFA’s financial rules require them to show proof of income from the football business. In 2022, PSG was fined ten million euros by the UEFA Financial Control Body and had to meet several conditions – which, according to UEFA, subsequently succeeded.
