Arrested while waiting for the ferry with his son

The charge is incitement to murder.

This friendly gentleman with dachshunds in his arms is said to have set a contract killer on his former partner! On Thursday, Björn R.’s arrest warrant was announced at the Itzehoe District Court (Schleswig-Holstein)!

Björn R. (41) is the ex-partner of the teacher Carolin G. (40), who was murdered on May 10th. The public prosecutor considers him to be the planner of the violent crime against the high school teacher from Potsdam-Mittelmark. With their son (3), he was standing at the ferry dock on the Elbe in Glückstadt when target investigators arrested him on Wednesday.

The presumed contract killer was caught the day before. The man was arrested at the Börde Süd rest area in Saxony-Anhalt. According to the Potsdam public prosecutor’s office, an arrest warrant for murder was issued against him on Wednesday. The man is in custody in Brandenburg.

For tactical reasons, the public prosecutor’s office is keeping a low profile on who he is and how the two suspects planned the murder. It is also unclear whether there have been any confessions. Spokesman Christian Alexander Neuling: “We can’t say anything about a possible motive at the moment.”

On May 10, the dead teacher was discovered in her Hyundai on the hard shoulder of the A9 near Beelitz. Carolin G., who taught mathematics and art at the high school in Brück (Potsdam-Mittelmark), was killed with three shots at close range! Apparently her killer had been in the passenger seat. Her broken car key was still in the ignition lock, the engine was running.

Three years ago, Carolin G. separated from her son’s father. After the murder, BZ spoke to the trained electrician. Björn R. was clueless: “I can’t explain who could have killed her, she had no enemies.” And further: “I have the right to determine the residence of our son. We need some rest now.”

On Wednesday, investigators from the homicide squad and the public prosecutor's office searched Björn R.'s apartment in Zehlendorf

Björn R. owns two apartment buildings in Zehlendorf. On Wednesday, the public prosecutor’s office and the homicide commission also searched his apartment there. Before separating from him, Carolin G. is said to have complained that he claimed custody of their son alone. Is this the motive for the crime? Carolin G. is said to have met her ex on the day of the murder – was it about her son?

The little boy is now in state custody. Carolin G. last lived in Niemegk (Potsdam-Mittelmark), lived again in her parents’ house.

After the arrest of the BZ, her father said: “Incredible what this man is capable of!” He describes Björn R. as “relationship disorder”. He was happy when his daughter separated from the man. He quietly adds: “We have a lot of things to sort out now. Especially what about our grandson.”
