Guardian news that the beloved actress John Nettleton is dead. He was 94 years old.
Nettleton is best remembered for his role as Sir Arnold Robinson in the favorite satire Yes, Mr. Minister, which aired from 1980 to 1984. He reprises his role in the series Yes, Mr. Prime Minister (1986–1987).
The series were BBC sitcoms, which follow the careers of ministry officials with ever-changing politicians. The series is considered one of the best British comedies of all time.
Nettleton was also seen in numerous other series including Doctor Who, Foyle’s War, The Midsomer Murders, Two floors of people, A bygone world, The New Statesman, Inner ring and Rooster with a crowbar.
The actor was also seen in six Oscar-winning films Man of honorwhich was awarded as the best film of 1966, and Roman Polanski in interpretation Oliver Twist.
