Rijk Hofman, Tim Hofman’s brother, is not open to an exclusive contract with John de Mol’s television company. “Really, even if he gave me 3 million, I wouldn’t go there.”
The box of tricks that Tim Hofman has opened has been disastrous for John de Mol’s most important TV child: The Voice of Holland. The TV billionaire is so done with the presenter that he even broke the promise to join his BOOS program again. But does that annoyance also extend to Tim’s family?
Fewer opportunities?
Tim has two brothers who also try to present themselves in the media: Rijk and Sam Hofman. Together they make a vulgar podcast in which they tell each time how many women they have done again in the past week. Will Tim’s actions give them fewer opportunities in the media?
Youtuber Robbert Rodenburg wonders. “Have you ever found it difficult that Tim tackles things in the television landscape or at all and that in principle it could also affect you indirectly or remove opportunities for you? I don’t think John de Mol would ask you for coffee so quickly tomorrow.”
“Never to John!”
Rijk responds with a shrug. He says on the talk show Open Map: “Really, even if he gave me 3 million: I would not go to John de Mol. I don’t want to present. I don’t want to work for John de Mol. I don’t want for SBS. I get what you mean, but I’ve never had a problem with that. I do my own thing.”
He continues: “I really have nothing to do with Tim, not even in terms of work. What I really owe to Tim is a whole lot of my mental health. He always says: ‘By the way, you get an invoice for mental help, as a psychologist.’ I owe much more to that than my career.”
Psychologist Tim
So what did Tim do for him? “Tim was always the one I could talk to. Tim and I went through the same thing, Tim is nine years older, so he had nine years more time to mentally figure things out for himself and I immediately benefited from that. He did it all alone.”
He continues: “Career wise I think so too, but I can’t give an example right now. But if I’m feeling really really bad or if there’s really really something up, then yes. Then Tim is the first, but I can actually do it myself now. He sort of trained me in that. That is also nice, then I will leave him alone.”
What did he send Tim after his award-winning Voice broadcast? “I’m proud of you.”
