A traffic accident on Friday morning, parallel to the warning strike on the railways, led to a long traffic jam on the 100 motorway.

According to the police, at least one truck and one car were involved in the accident on the A100 just after the Britzer Tunnel (heading north). There was initially no further information about injuries or possibly other vehicles involved.

According to the traffic information center in Berlin, there was a long traffic jam with delays of more than an hour. The Britzer tunnel had to be closed several times for a short time.

No longer traffic jams in Berlin and Brandenburg despite warning strikes

The warning strike on the railways did not initially lead to long traffic jams in Berlin and on the autobahns in Brandenburg on Friday morning. As the traffic information center in Berlin announced on Twitter, as of 7:30 a.m. there were no traffic jams with a delay of more than ten minutes.

The railway and transport union EVG has been on strike since 3:00 a.m., the strike is expected to last until 11:00 a.m. Rail traffic was therefore almost completely at a standstill on Friday morning.

This affects the regional and S-Bahn trains, but not the buses, subways and trams that are operated in Berlin by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG).
