Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre welcomes the journalists when Ateba decides to interrupt her: “This is not China, this is not Russia. It’s been seven months and you haven’t let me speak. That’s not okay.” Jean-Pierre tries to get the situation under control as quickly as possible and other journalists in the room also urge Ateba to stop. It is not the first time that the African correspondent has interrupted a spokesperson. He now risks losing his press credential, making him no longer welcome in the White House.
