Donny van de Beek recovering from a serious knee injury: ‘Trust the process’ | Dutch football

Donny van de Beek is fully engaged in his rehabilitation from the serious knee injury he sustained in January in the duel with former Feyenoord player Marcos Senesi from Bournemouth. The 25-year-old midfielder of Manchester United will be sidelined for the rest of the season.

More than two months after the diagnosis, Van de Beek uploaded a short video on his own Instagram page in which he shows that he is working hard on his rehabilitation and building strength with a series of exercises in the gym. It will take some time before he is fit again. “Trust the process, step by step,” the footballer writes in the caption.

“I think it’s pretty positive news,” coach Erik ten Hag told Manchester United’s official club channels. “The bad news, of course, is that he is out for the rest of the season, but the good news is that his knee will be fine in the long run and he will be ready to play at the highest level again. Before the start of the pre-season.”

Van de Beek had surgery after the diagnosis and at that point he reported that everything was going according to plan and told the fans: ,,It’s time to start my recovery process and I will do everything I can to come back stronger for this club.”
