Ideal staff approve agreement: end of strike
Yesterday was an important day at Ideal Floorcoverings in Wielsbeke. Unions and management met for new talks on day six of the strike. The location has been flat since last Thursday and unions are taking action.

Pre-agreement after long consultation
As is known, parent company Beaulieu International Group plans to close textile company Ideal Floorcoverings in Wielsbeke. 175 jobs are threatened. Negotiations about the social plan were very difficult. There was a lot to do, especially about the severance payments. The employees of the Wielsbeek branch want the same amounts as those in Komen, where a department of the group also closed.
Yesterday there was a strike for the sixth day and the production of tufted carpet was halted. Now the unions and management have come out of the impasse and an agreement has been reached.
