Despite the early elimination of the German team from the 2022 World Cup, no other club has as many players in the current World Cup tournament as FC Bayern. Hoffenheim (Andrej Kramaric, Croatia), Bayer Leverkusen (Exequiel Palacios, Argentina), RB Leipzig (Josko Gvardiol, Croatia), VfB Stuttgart (Borna Sosa, Croatia) and Gladbach (Marcus Thuram, France). Eintracht Frankfurt even has two positions left in the competition with France’s Randal Kolo Muani and Croatia’s Kristijan Jakic. The eleven BVB pros who came have all already been eliminated.

On the other hand, the Dortmunders were hardly less successful than the FC Bayern players based on the points they scored. Both clubs are the only relegating German clubs among the top 15 in this regard.
