The Purmerendse ScholenGroep (PSG) is seriously concerned about a series of robberies around the Jan van Egmond Lyceum and Nelson Mandela. The school group has sent a letter to parents and advises students to avoid Doplaan and the shopping center on Burgemeester D. Kooimanweg for the time being.
PSG director Peter Reenalda reports in the letter, which has come into the hands of RTV Purmerend, that there were two robberies last week, in which a student was the victim in both cases. “Phones were stolen with intimidation and violence,” he writes.
Robbery
On Tuesday, a 15-year-old boy from the municipality of Wormerland cycled across the Doplaan, then he pushed and beaten became. The two 16-year-old suspects ran off with his phone and were arrested a day later.
The letter refers to ‘several nasty incidents’, including certainly another robbery. “The police have the perpetrators on the retina and various investigations are underway.”

Further, Principal Reenalda writes in the letter: “Even though this is happening outside the school, the wellbeing of our students affects us all. It is good if you discuss with your child that this is currently going on and it is advisable to avoid the affected areas for the time being “We are closely monitoring the situation and have short lines with the police.”
